NEDO, New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization, is one of the largest public research and development management organizations in Japan. It has two basic missions: 1) addressing energy and global environmental problems, and 2) enhancing industrial technologies. NEDO promotes a variety of technology development and experimental projects by integrating the combined technological efforts of corporate, academic and government organizations.
NEDO engages in a wide range of technology development fields, from energy and environmental technologies to industrial technologies. As a Japanese government organization, NEDO carries out projects to explore future technology seeds as well as mid- to long-term projects that may form the basis of industrial development. It also supports the development of practical applications for promising technologies.
